  • Therapy is two people talking about life. Specifically YOUR life, your experiences, your thoughts, your feelings. We talk about the not-so hard stuff and the hard-stuff…eventually, when you’re ready to. Until then, I create this safe space for us to talk and for you to share yourself in our time together. We work together to identify the goals to work towards in therapy, and those goals can be a million different things. For some it can be, “I want to be a better version of me”, to “I want to overcome my anxiety”, or even “help me overcome my fear of x,y,z”. Everyone is different and everyone's reasons for going to therapy is valid!

  • We talk…and quite a bit! My brand of therapy and counseling is very rooted in the connection between therapist and client. My strength is in making you feel comfortable, valid, heard and seen. We build together a therapeutic, professional connection, a rapport for you to feel safe in telling me literally absolutely anything in a judgment-free zone. We identify the goals for you and then work towards those goals. We explore together, we look for the why we think, feel certain ways. We unpack that and put it back together, connecting it to the present and future. We look for the barriers that stop us from growing and we identify ways to achieve your goals.

  • 45-55 min sessions

  • The most common misconception with therapy and counseling is, “you only really need it when you’re at your absolute lowest”. This couldn’t be farther from the truth! You can seek a professional therapist or counselor for “not so serious issues”. Therapy is different for everyone, your experience could be just a month, to several months, to even longer. All this depends on you and your goals, what is appropriate and ethical based on our evaluations.

  • Ideally, new clients are best to be seen weekly. Many factors determine the appropriate frequency of sessions which would be discussed in session to determine what is best for you!

  • At this time, Pura Life Counseling only offers virtual sessions.

  • I may not be! Sometimes, it can be a significant challenge finding the right therapist you connect with, relate to, feel safe with, and that has the experience and skillset you’re looking for. However we won’t know unless we try! It’s okay for us not to work out. In the event your therapeutic journey seems to be pointing in a different direction, I take my time to help point you in the right direction or find someone more suitable to meet your needs.
